Services we provide.

The Pee Dee Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a volunteer group of citizens from business, labor, education and community organizations dedicated to creating a world-class workforce development system in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion and Marlboro Counties.

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) required each local area to establish one One Stop Workforce Center. The Pee Dee WIB insisted that residents have access to One Stop Services in each of their counties. As a result, there are four comprehensive SC Works Centers in the Pee Dee, two affiliate sites, plus citizens can access computer resource rooms in several locations in the Region. This hard work translates into the Pee Dee WIB directly helping Job Seekers. Veterans and their spouses receive PRIORITY of services in the Pee Dee Workforce Investment Board’s workforce programs. Veterans should immediately identify themselves to our SC Works staff.

The Pee Dee WIB is involved in economic development activities in each county. Existing Employers can apply for Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) grants to update the skills of their current workforce. Prospective and existing employers may be interested in exploring how WorkKeys can benefit their businesses. These are services supported by the Pee Dee WIB.

The WIB provides educational assistance, basic skills upgrading and employment opportunities for young people. Do you need to earn your GED, prepare for college, gain work experience, or develop leadership qualities? Then the WIA Youth Program is for you.

SC Works Centers.
